This is a beautiful wood turning from Germany and a wood turning of maple.
A cover is lifted showing a cone which may be examined. After vanishing the cone by a method which best suits the performer the cone is seen to reappear under the cover.
One Skittle is a thin shell which perfectly nests over the other Skittle which is solid. This is a challenge to make and only an experienced turner could begin to make.
The cover is stamped "Germany" and this is a first rate turning that only a craftsman could achieve.
For a detailed description of the effect also giving ideas for a transposition using balls see Hoffmann's Modern Magic from 1876.
