The effect of Time Flys is a fine one that plays well because the clock is of polished metal and the vanish leaves you with a menu that is only 1/8" thick. The menu is of a special design to receive the clock and the clock has a nice face upon it adding to the realism of the effect.
I would like to be able to go into a restaurant today and dine for the price of some of the dishes offered in this menu such as a 16 oz strip sirloin for $4.75 or a whole Florida lobster at the price of $4.00. This may give you some idea of the age of the effect and I would not be surprised if Richard Himber had a hand along with Gen Grant in the putting together of this effect.
The gold trim on the clock face has slipped ever so slightly 1/16" but that won't be all that noticeable to an audience in performance. Condition very fine.
