This auction is part of a Rare offering of Richard Himber items from the 1960's. Mr. Himber's creations are highly sought after as they involve plots and themes that baffle an audience and are a departure from the norm. Great as these items were in Mr. Himber's time they are even greater now.

The Solid Gold Gimmick is a precision device housed in solid 14 Carat Gold and in Mr. Himber's words "Gold is the only metal which will answer all our purposes". The gold was used as it being a precious metal would have the right amount of give once placed on the card case flap in order to have the right tension to make the whole unit work properly which it does.

This tiny little device is used for Rising Cards from an ordinary deck in its box.
