| Rarely does one find a stack of fishbowls production let alone with such a fine method of release for the stack seconds before the unveiling production is made. The stack with gimmick in place resting upon the donut style platform stands approximately 24 1/2 inches to the top loop. The cover which holds the stack all together has age related holes and tears but still functions. The plate upon which the fishbowls stand is mechanically arranged with a bullet plug which protrudes from the bottom holding four spring loaded pins in place extended to correspond with grommets at the bottom of the cloth cover. This is resting behind perhaps a decorative screen or table and sitting upon the donut shape ring that allows for the bullet to be extended. When ready for the production say after producing a number of silks (not supplied) the stack is stolen in the pretense of picking up the many silks walking forward toward the audience. Once the stack with mechanical base is sat down upon the floor the plug is pushed up allowing the pins to retract which in turn allows for the peeling away of the cover and loop handle to be taken away with the silks leaving in view the beautiful stack of bowls with or without water and goldfish swimming about! Truly a scarce and vintage classic that is as much a performable piece today as it was decades ago. There are 5 bowls in the stack 3 of a clear glass and 2 of glass with a slight green tint. | |
