Description | |
This early production device built around the transferring load or Mingnon principle built many years ago by Abbott's. A chest with four sides that let down and a hinged lid is shown setting atop a pedestal isolating it from the table top. The four side panels are let down and the cabinet is lifted away from the pedestal. Two panels one in front and one at rear are removed from their respective slots in the chest giving a clear view of the emptiness of the chest. These two panels are slid back in place in their vertical positions and the chest is replaced on the pedestal lifting up the front and back panels back in place as well. Two fasten tabs are slid away allowing for the opening of the top door of the chest and now a huge production of silks or other solid objects is made (production items not included). The two vertical slide away panels are absent and something will have to be made to use in their place but this should be a simple matter as any flat material 1/8" in thickness may be used, even decorated cardboard. If these two simple panels were present this would sell for several hundred dollars. Height of unit is 14 1/4" with chest measuring 9 1/4" deep x 9 1/4" wide and decorative drop down panels 11 1/2" wide. Includes instructions. Condition very good. |
