One box in brass has a recess in the lid to accommodate a gimmick half dollar that is embedded with a magnet having a flat brass surface on the reverse. The half dollar will adhere to the recess in the lid. This box is trademark stamped.
The other coin box has a Boston feature and made of brass also having an embedded shim to attract a magnetic half in the Boston section on the bottom of the box or in the inside bottom of the box. This box is also trademark stamped.
Kirkendall items of this style are quite scarce and were not mass produced in great quantity as his reels. One would almost have to beg on folded knees to get anything from Kirkendall.
